Haunted House in Poptropica

By Parker Simpson

A new fun special mission is available for the fun kids game Poptropica. It's called Haunted House and its a scary and spooky mini-mission made just for Halloween. It's only available in the game for a short period of time, but it's very fun to play and if you finish it you'll be rewarded with some cool prizes at a party at the end of the mission.

The very first thing you need to do is start the mission! You can do this by clicking on the promotion for the Haunted House mission on the main Poptropica map. You'll arrive at a scary looking graveyard with lots of tombstones. Walk over to the left to get to the Haunted House. It's locked and you need to get inside through the cellar door on the left. But first you need to steal the key from the bat who is flying around. Jump up on the house and head to the roof where you can catch the bat and take the key from him. Once you have it, click on the cellar door to go inside.

When you arrive inside the cellar, you'll find the first puzzle that you must solve. There are pipes floating in the air between the furnace and the boiler. You must click on the pipe segments to rotate them and get them all connected so that the resulting pipe runs all the way from the furnace to the boiler. When this happens, the boiler will turn on and steam will come out of it. If you jump up on the steam, you will fly up to a platform above the furnace. You'll find a draught of red liquid and this is the next item.

Now go to the right of the boiler and there is a staircase that will lead up into the house. You'll be standing in the kitchen and there's a fridge here with ice in it. To get the ice out of the fridge you'll need the pickaxe from the knight statue up on the second floor. Jump on the knight's head to get him to drop the axe and then pick it up. Now you can go back down to the kitchen and click on the ice to make ice cubes, your next item!

Now you need to go upstairs to the bedroom on the left. In that room there is a fireplace with a mantle. And sitting on top of the mantle are two identical clocks. Click on them to launch a new puzzle. In this tricky puzzle, you need to get the two clocks to strike midnight at the exact same time. The way you do it is to put your cursor over one clock at a time, which makes that clock move much faster. As soon as it catches up exactly to the other clock, take the cursor off. Keep adjusting the clocks until they're completely synchronized. If you did it right, they'll both strike midnight at the same time. Two skulls will pop out on springs at the same time and you'll get the lantern, which is your next item.

Next you're ready to adventure into the attic. To get up there you need to go through the hole in the ceiling in the dining room. But you can't jump up there. The way to do it is to click on the spider on the floor. He will drop down and scare the witch in the painting. She will drop her broom and then you can go pick it up and fly on it. This will allow you to enter the attic. On the far left of the attic there is a chest on the floor. Click on it and you will see a slider puzzle with a skull picture on it. Watch carefully as the pieces move and then repeat the moves you saw in reverse order. This will return the picture to normal and you'll get the chalice, which is your last item.

The next step is to go talk to the ghost cat downstairs in the parlor next to the kitchen. The cat will tell you to light the lantern. You can do this by going back into the cellar and clicking on the barrel marked with the word kerosene. Then go back and talk to the cat one more time and he'll tell you to bring the treasures to where the cherub cries. This means to go back to the graveyard where you started. There's a big statue of a crying angel but now there's a hole in the ground next to it. Click on the hole to go down and you'll arrive at a special Halloween party.

You'll get a reward of 50 Poptropica Credits for completing this mission and you'll be able to use your costumizer power to copy any of the costumes you see here. There are a lot of choices so have fun because you deserve it after solving this special Poptropica mini-quest.
